Evelyn M. Mattos, age 94, of Dexter, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Rentz Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at 5:00PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, with visitation following until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ricky Wilkins, Jamie Wilkins, Dexter Wilkins and Vonnie Ward. Mrs. Mattos graduated from high school in Auburn, California. She lived in California most of her adult life. She was a homemaker and wife to a fruit farmer. She moved to Georgia in 2008 to live near her daughter. Mrs. Mattos was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church She enjoyed gardening, music, art and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Lydia Vieira and her husband, Tony F. Mattos. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary A. and James G. Bedingfield of Dexter and grandson, Mike Bedingfield.
