Obituary

Evelyn Barnes Wallace of Dublin died on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at the age of 76. She was born on July 17, 1937 to Grady and Mae Barnes who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, James Albert Wallace. Mrs. Wallace attended high school at Jordan High School in Columbus where she met and later married James A. Wallace. She received her B.S. in Medical Technology from Georgia South Western and maintained her ASCP Certification. As a Georgia Power wife, she moved throughout South Georgia and served as director of a Medical Tech School in Waycross and Valdosta. As a loving Christian and member of Dublin First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Wallace was a prayer warrior and co-created a prayer chain ministry at First United Methodist Church which continues until this day by many fellow Christians from the congregation. She was very active in several Bible studies and was a member of the Heart of Georgia Walk to Emmaus. She lived as she died, a Christian. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Rev. Deborah Jeannette Wallace and many loving friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 14 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wallace will be held at Dublin Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2013. Rev. Jimbo Dominy, Rev. Daryl Brown, Rev. Thad Haygood, and Rev. Deborah Wallace will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Roman 8:38 Ministries, P. O. Box 28583, Macon, GA 31221.
