Services for Evie Jean Ellis, age 90, of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May15, 2013, at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Billy Glosson will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of the late Julian A. Rachels, Sr. and the late Evie Dell Keen Rachels. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Dublin Bonded Warehouse, and then with Uniroyal, Inc. until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Ellis passed away Saturday, May 11. 2013. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Ellis, Sr. and brother, Julian A. Rachels, Jr. . Survivors include her children, Susan E. (Steve) Lindsay of St. Petersburg, FL, and Everett W. "Wally" (Sandi) Ellis, Jr. of Lake City, FL; sister, Mary Nell Dowling of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Stephen Lindsay of Roswell, GA, Shannon Falcon of St. Petersburg, FL, Joshua Ellis of Lake City, FL; great grandchildren, Sean Falcon of St. Petersburg, and Jackson Lindsay of Roswell, GA. Stephen Lindsay, Josh Ellis, Sean Falcon, Bill Dowling, Dr. Bill Ellis, Ron Smith, Ron Edge, Ricky Richardson, and Buck Patisaul will serve as pallbearers.
