Edith Fay Massey was born April 8, 1939 to the late Carl and Mollie Raffield Hitson. Fay was a graduate of the Dublin High School Class of 1957 and attended Georgia Baptist School of Radiology. She married Bobby John Massey of Memphis, TN on February 11, 1970. Fay worked as Activities Director at Dublinair Nursing Home and then pursued her LPN and nursing home administrator's license. She retired as administrator at Oconee Nursing and Rehab Center, where she was greatly loved by her residents and she loved them. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by a son, Kyle Jennings Massey; sister, Barbara Braddy and brother, Fred Hitson. Fay passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Bobby John Massey of Dublin; sons, Richard Dwight Miller of Dublin; Cole (Letitia) Hitson Miller of Dexter and John (Georgia "GG") Massey of Hernando, MS; daughter, Debbie (Michael) Horton of Hernando, MS; grandchildren, Heath and Cori Miller of Dexter; Seth and Cassidy Massey of Hernando, MS and Heather, Haley and Ryan Horton of Hernando, MS; sisters, Peggy (Parks) Daniels of Dublin and Betty Baldwin of Dublin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Heath Miller, John Daniels, Blake Carr, Barry Brown, Bobby Everly and Wick Cochran.
