Miss Fay Tanner, age 89 of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Dublin Place Assisted Living.

Miss Tanner was born in Alston, Georgia in Montgomery County on November 29, 1933 to the late Fred O. Tanner and the late Mable Coleman Tanner.  After graduating from Mount Vernon Ailey High School, she soon began her employment with Southern Bell in 1952 and worked there until her retirement.  Later she was employed by Dublin City Schools as a paraprofessional at Susie Dasher Elementary.

Miss Tanner had a heart for service to others.  She was a faithful member of Wellsprings Baptist Church.  Her love and devotion for children shown deeply as she enjoyed teaching the children's Sunday School class for many years.  She also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America where she was actively involved in community service projects.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Tanner and Don Tanner and her sister, Enid Beall.

Survivors include nieces, Cheri (James) Hawkins, Dana (Mark) Evans, Julie (Mike) Ellington, nephews, Greg Tanner, Brad (April) Tanner, Brent Tanner; great nieces, Erin Franks, Sarah Evans and great nephews, Trey Hawkins, Brian Ellington, Jake Ellington, Dalton Tanner, and Caleb Tanner; several great-great nieces and nephews, and cousin, Jacquita (Byron) Finn.

Graveside services will be held at Northview Cemetery on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  Reverend Charles Lowery will officiate.  The family will receive friends following the service.
