Graveside services for Florence H. Duddy, age 85 of Dublin will be held at noon on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ronnie Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:30AM until 11:30AM on Friday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Duddy attended Centerville Baptist Church and retired from Allen Bradley. She was full of energy and fearless. She served as a scout leader and worked for insurance agent Mr. Robbins at the Nagog Inn. Mrs. Duddy was a real estate agent for Acton Real Estate. She was a member of the Acton Women's Club and helped start and run Johnson's Pharmacy with her first husband. She loved to hunt for antiques and made wonderful Christmas cookies, which she gave away by the box full. She always made everyone feel welcome at her home, no crowd was too big and she always made more than enough food. Mrs. Duddy was preceded in death by her parents, John Thurston Harrison and Lyda Bridges Harrison; husbands, Walter F. Duddy and Bobby Boyd and a sister, Patsy Bassett. She passed away on Tuesday, March 05, 2013. She left behind four generations of family. She is survived by her children, Gale Woodard of Dublin, Daniel F. (Julie) Duddy of Stella, NC, Jackie (Dan) Williams of Melvin Village, NH, and John (Renee) Duddy of Orange Park, FL; brothers, John Harrison of Dublin and Harry Harrison of Macon; grandchildren, Sean Duddy, Dannel Duddy, Cristin Duddy, Cheryl Mullis, Lisa Kight and Justin Williams; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; special friend, Brenda Shiver and several nieces and nephews.
