Obituary

Foy Bush Clark, 85, a lifelong resident of Dublin, Georgia passed peacefully on May 8, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness. Born in Dublin, Georgia to the late David Foy and Pickette Bush Clark he was predeceased by an infant brother. Mr. Clark served his country with honor in both Guam and Korea with the U.S. Army. He was a devoted son, husband and a loyal friend to many. He served in various capacities with Lovett & Tharpe for over 44 years including Company President until his retirement. A man of many interests, he had a passion for tilling the soil, growing many delicious varieties of fruits and vegetables which he enjoyed sharing with his many friends and family. A lifetime student Mr. Clark had an inquisitive mind and was very persistent in mastering new challenges. Mr. Clark was always ready to engage in a friendly conversation especially if it included discussing your family tree, with you often realizing he knew a lot more about your "roots" than you did. He was an active member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served as Chairman of Deacons, assisted with the Baptist Children's Home ministry and in many other capacities. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Guynelle Hattaway Clark, first cousin, Ray (Mary) Freeman, cousins, Marilyn Freeman Dailey, Butch (Beth) Freeman, Carolyn (Trinton) Pharis, Steve (Ernestine) Freeman, Cindy Freeman (Bill) Black, Jimmy (Aris) Bush, Jackie (Larry) Price, Eugenia Raffield, Paul (Karen) Bush, Wilson Bush, Mitch (Jennifer) Freeman, David (Mala) Freeman, Cathy Freeman (John) Tanzine, Sonny Stephens, Jimmy Stephens and many other relatives and longtime caregiver, Anease Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, May 11, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin with visitation at 10 am with Reverend Kelly Maddox officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Georgia Baptist Children's Home at P.O. Box 329 Palmetto, GA 30268. Condolences may be expressed on the guestbook at Townsend Brothers website at www.townsendfuneralhome.com. Serving as pallbearers are Will Freeman, Tim Kennedy, Richard Dailey, Jr., Clark Dailey, Jimmy Bush, and Steve Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Kennedy, Charles Frost, Ben Hitson, Sonny Stephens, Ray Perry, Ted Jarriel and Jimmy Stephens.
