Frances B. Elam, age 94, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Mrs. Elam was born May 1, 1922 in Jacksonville, GA, to the late William Bruce and Ada Delia Pope Elam. She retired from the Laurens County Board of Education, where she worked as a teacher. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer M. Hines, of Dublin; son, W.L. "Scooter" Githens, and his wife, Teresa Jean, of Dublin; brother, W. Warren Elam and his wife, Nelle, of Starkville, MS and grandson, Richard Earl Githens and his wife, Pam, of Perry. A private memorial service for Mrs. Elam will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to the Laurens County Humane Society, 618 Firetower Road, Dublin, GA 31021.
