Services for Frances C. Woodard, age 90, of Rentz will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 25, 2011 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Len W. Woodard will officiate. Mrs. Woodard, a life-long resident of Laurens County, was the daughter of the late Samuel Dawson Braswell and the late Emmie Fann Braswell. She was a member of the Rentz Baptist Church and was a restaurant owner in the area for fifty years. She loved fishing, the outdoors, and gardening. She was a special mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family and her family loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carris Lee Woodard, a son-in-law; John Warren Myers; and a grandson, John Anthony (Tony) Myers. Mrs. Woodard died Saturday, April 23, 2011 in a local nursing home. Survivors include three daughters Jean (Karl) Schumacher, Myrna Myers, Faye Cooper all of Rentz; two brothers S. D. Braswell, Jr. and Marvin Braswell both of Rentz, a sister Bernice Alligood of Dublin, grandchildren, Tammy (Russell) Lane of Rentz, Lee Schumacher and Donna Wynn of Dexter, Denese (David) Wood of Griffin, Ronnie Cooper of East Dublin, Tal (Cassandra) Fountain of Dexter, Sandy (Gary) Durden of Rentz, nine great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Edwin Alligood, Jimmy Alligood, Tal Fountain, Russell Lane, Gary Durden, David Wood, Ronnie Cooper and Danny Smith. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Myrna Myers, 2119 Davidson Street, Rentz.
