Graveside services for Francis Brunson Hancock, age 93 of Dublin, will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto and Elder Marion Malcolm will officiate. He passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Mr. Hancock was born in Laurens County to the late F.M. and Elizabeth Brunson Hancock. He attained an Associate's Degree from Georgia Tech and retired after 17 ½ years as a Captain in the United States Army. He was owner and operator of Hancock Dial-a-Cab. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Marion Edward Hancock and Randall Fred Roberts, sisters, Elizabeth Macolm, and Mildred Slieper, and brother, Burton Hancock. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hanson Hancock of Dublin; sons, Michael (Susan) Hancock of Winston, GA, Francis Brunson (Bonnie) Hancock, Jr. of DeLand, FL and Charlie Roberts of Dublin; daughters, Charline (Joel) Laney of Hawkinsville, Kathy (Chris) Carswell of Dublin, Pam Graham of Milledgeville, Jan (Joey) Warnock of Dublin and Dawn (Wayne) Cain of Dublin; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Hancock, Randy Hancock, Luke Cain, Corey Adams, Jeff Cain, and Joel Laney. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
