Services for Frederick "Fred" Nathan Evans, 81, of Rentz, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Rentz Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann, Rev. Grady Mimbs, and Rev. James Sowden will officiate. Mr. Evans died Friday, December 21, 2012. Mr. Evans was the son of the late Dave Evans and the late Sally Underwood Evans. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 through 1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Rentz Baptist Church. Mr. Evans was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his son, Frederick Todd Evans, two sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Betty Evans, of Rentz; daughters, Donna (Jerry) Morgan, of East Dublin, and Freda (Dale) Meeks, of Boise, ID; grandchildren, T. J. (Tracy) Meeks, of Germany, Jessie (Justin) Smith, Lauren (Kris) Miller, both of Boise, ID, Paul (Erinn) Heron, of Durham, NC, Cameron Evans, Britt Evans, both of Rentz; brother, Howard Evans, of Rentz; daughter-in-law, Melissa Evans, of Rentz; sisters-in-law, Mona Evans of Macon and Grace Evans, of Rentz; four great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and little buddies, Flash and Sandy. Pallbearers will be Larry Evans, Danny Evans, Richard Evans, Paul Heron, Ricky Evans and Don Raines. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Watson Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted, but donations may be made to Serenity Hospice, 510 Bellevue Ave., Dublin, GA 31021.
