Garry Gene Oliver, known lovingly as Garry, passed away on August 31, 2026, in Dublin, Georgia, at the age of 77.

He was born on September 29, 1948, in Dublin, Georgia, and spent his life rooted in the community he called home. Garry lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and devotion to the people he loved. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and his years of service reflected the same strength, discipline, and commitment that guided him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Garry built a respected career through his work with Rockwell Automation and later with Georgia Public Television, where he eventually retired. He was known as a dependable and dedicated man who took pride in doing his work well. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his strong character, and the quiet dignity with which he carried himself.

Garry was also a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he found great enjoyment in the outdoors. He loved sports as well, having played football for Dublin High School and later continuing his athletics while serving in the Navy, where he also boxed.

Family was central to Garry's life, and he treasured the many relationships that surrounded him. He was married to his beloved wife, Faye Oliver, for 38 years, and their marriage was a lasting example of love, partnership, and devotion. He is survived by his son, Scott Oliver; his son, Ritchie Mullis; his daughter, Deanna Morgan; his brother, Billy Oliver Sr.; his brother, Jackie Oliver; his sister, Peggy Ivory; and his grandchildren, Chase Oliver, Cam Oliver, and Olivia Brantley. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaston Oliver; his mother, Mavis Oliver; and his brother, Danny Oliver.

Garry will be remembered for the love he gave to his family, the pride he took in his service, and the many ways he contributed to the lives of those around him. His life was one of perseverance, dedication, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
