Services for Gene Gay, age 73, of Cedar Grove, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Wayne Poole will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Gay died Thursday, December 4, 2014. Mr. Gay, a self employed mechanic, was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and car racing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Warren Gay, and his parents, Odell Gay and Webie Thompson Gay. Survivors include his sons, Warren Gay, of Rentz, Peter (Jennifer) Gay, of Cedar Grove; grandchildren, Austin Gay, of Rentz, Gracie Fay Gay, of Cedar Grove; brother, Billy Gay, of Winter Garden, FL; and sister, Mary Ann Wynne, of Cedar Grove. Peter Gay, Warren Gay, Glennis Gay, Terry Wynne, Chris Wright, and Tony Poole will serve as pallbearers.
