Graveside services for Gene Lampp, age 72 of East Dublin will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dennis Mullis will officiate. Mr. Lampp was a lifelong resident of East Dublin. He worked for J.P. Stevens for 15 years. He was an accomplished business owner and operator of Lampp Oil Company. He was the son of the late R.F. Lampp and the late Mattie Rae Lampp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Ray Lampp; half sister, Grace Rye and half brother, J.M. Hartley. Mr. Lampp passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 following an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Grace Kennedy Lampp of East Dublin; son, Dawson (Marilyn) Lampp of Dublin; daughter, Regina (Curtis) Cooper of Marietta; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Felton) McDaniel of Dublin; brother, Jerry (Judy) Lampp of Statham; sister-in-law, Patsy Lampp of Dublin; half brother, Grady Underwood of Rockledge and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kendall Lampp, Eli Bailey, Jeffrey Rozier, Cleon Couey, Wesley Couey and Jeremy Couey. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Gideon's International or to a charity of choice.
