Graveside services for Mary Geneva Hancock, age 79 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Paul Wilkes and Rev. Charles Lowery will officiate. She passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013. Mrs. Hancock was a special and loving mother and grandmother. She was a very active member of Springdale Baptist Church where she was a teacher of the Peacemakers Sunday School Class and active in the Shamrock Nursing Home Ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Essie Young and her husband, Billy Hancock. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Dud) Gordon of Dublin; son, Tracy (Stephanie) Gordon of Dublin; grandsons, Dustin Gordon, Dillon Gordon of Dublin; granddaughter, Taylor Gordon of Dublin and great-grandson Dawson Gordon of Dublin and several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Buddy Butler, Ricky Scott, Delmas Brown, H.W. Purvis, Gene Walker and L.W. Howell. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
