Geraldine Alligood, age 84 of Bishop, GA, formerly of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, December 03, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Dublin. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00AM until funeral hour at the church. Mrs. Alligood retired from teaching school after more than 30 years of dedicated service. She loved to read and travel. She also loved UGA football and playing bridge whenever she could. Mrs. Alligood was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin and Delta Kappa Gamma. She also served as a volunteer with AARP and Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.M. and Thelma Davis; husband, Vernon Alligood and brother, Ray Davis. Survivors include her son, Jeff (Janet) Alligood of Bishop, GA; grandson, Brian (Courtney) Alligood of Statesboro, GA; granddaughter, Christina (Joe) Stephens of Macon, GA; great-grandchildren, Madison and Collin Alligood of Statesboro, GA; brother, Travis (Carolyn) Davis of Dublin and sister, Dolores (Gary) Walden of Soperton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Alligood, Joe Stephens, David Walden, Charles Alligood, Van Davis and Darin Brooks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Laurens County, P.O.
