Biography Services for Geraldine "Gerrie" Kitchens, age 86 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Paul Brown will officiate.
Mrs. Kitchens was a member of First Independent Methodist Church and the Catherine L. Thomas Sunday School Class. She was a retiree of Oxford Industries and Allen-Bradley-Rockwell. She was a member of the Fairview Park Hospital Auxiliary serving as a Pink Lady for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband; William Ray Kitchens Sr., parents; William McKinley Alligood and Ruth Coleman Alligood, sisters; Bobbie Palmer and Wickie Alligood, brother; Royce Alligood.
Survivors include her daughter Jackie (Claud) Denney of Dublin, son; Billy Ray (Candy) Kitchens of Perry, grandsons; Billy (Megan) Kitchens of Port Wentworth, Kory (Lindsay) Kitchens of Charleston, SC, great-grandsons; Ray Kitchens of Waycross and Kean Kitchens of Port Wentworth, step grandchildren; Bill (Pam) Denney of Springfield, Barry (Jenny) Denney of Springfield, Barbara (Ken) Mercer of Swainsboro, Ashley Denney of Swainsboro, Zack Denney of Swainsboro, Austin Denney of Springfield, step great grandchildren, Josey Denney and Chance Denney, Special Friends, Pat Foskey and Sherry Mangum.
Burney Knight, Greg Slaughter, Dennis Waldrep, John Williams, Skie Brantley, and Don Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Independent Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1021, Dublin, GA 31040 in her memory. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
