Ginger Watson Carter, known as Ginger, age 60, of East Dublin, Georgia, passed away on September 23, 2026. She was born on January 22, 1966, in Dublin, Georgia, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many relationships she nurtured with kindness and care.
Ginger was the beloved wife of Rickey Carter, and they shared 41 years of marriage filled with love, commitment, and steadfast companionship. Together, they built a family that was the center of her world. She was a devoted mother to Lewis Jevon Carter and his wife, Crystal, Daniel Carter and his wife, Cameron, Jesse Carter and his wife, Amber, and Felicia Carter-Cason and countless others that she raised. Her children were a source of great pride and joy, and she cherished each of them deeply.
She was a treasured Nanny to Cheyenne Carter Hood and her husband, Tyler, Cayleigh Carter Franco and her husband, Kevin, Shelby Carter, Ava Carter, Addie Carter, Elizabeth Cason, Gage Carter, Brody Carter, Noah Fratilla, and Devin Leton. Ginger was also a great-grandmother to Giovani Franco and Georgia Hood. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless, and she found great happiness in the time she spent with them, celebrating their lives and accomplishments with a proud and tender heart. She was an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews that she loved with all her heart.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Burnette Watson, and by her paternal grandfather, Grady Watson, her paternal grandmother, Lucille Padgett, and her maternal grandparents, William Day Dudley and Eva Eloise Dudley.
She is survived by her sisters, Sherry Watson, Gay Shepard and her husband, Stacey, and Terresa Ivey and her husband, Ken, as well as her brothers, Lance Watson and his wife, Carla, Rex Watson and his wife, Karen, and Cliff Watson and his wife, Lori. Ginger valued the bonds of family and remained connected to her siblings with love and loyalty throughout her life. These relationships were an important part of the foundation that helped define her as a person.
A homemaker by trade and by calling, Ginger devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home. She was known for her thoughtful nature, her passionate spirit, and the loving way she cared for those around her. Her presence brought comfort and strength to her family, and her gentle heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was the kind of woman who remembered the details that mattered, offered encouragement when it was needed, and gave of herself freely and sincerely.
She was a member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene. Her Christian faith guided her steps and reflected the grace and compassion she showed to others. She found strength in her beliefs and lived in a way that demonstrated her devotion to God and to the people she loved.
Those who knew Ginger will remember her as loving, thoughtful, passionate, and faithful. She had a gift for making others feel valued and cared for, and her life was a testimony to the power of family, faith, and steadfast love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all who were blessed to know her.
Pallbearers will be Richie Carter, Seth Howell, Charlie Shepard, Kevin Howell, William Watson and Mark Graham.
Honorary escorts will include Stanley Soles, Jake Howell, Joe Howell, Reggie Carter, Tommy Hughes, Clay Hughes, Jeremy Stone, Logan Watson, Matt Gonzalez and Jimmy Graham.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 25, 2026 at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene Cemetery with Rev. Jacob Hughes officiating.
