Graveside services for Gloria Wilkes Purdee, age 74 of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Minter Cemetery. Rev. Monty Lasseter and Rev. Sonny D. Wilkes will officiate. Mrs. Purdee was born in Laurens County and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Rhodus Wilkes; husband, Curtis Homer Purdee and grandson, Adam Purdee. She passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. She is survived by her son, Mitchell Purdee of Dublin; daughters, Teresa Phillips of Milledgeville and Sheila Purdee, Linda Wilkes and Karan Gray (Scott Akin), all of East Dublin; mother, Lucille Edge Wilkes of East Dublin; brother, Sonny D. (Joanie) Wilkes, LaFollette, TN; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
