Funeral services for Grady Wayne Light, age 63 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tim Lumley will officiate. Mr. Light died Tuesday December 21, 2010. Wayne was born in Alabama. He was the son of the late Buster Lafayette Light and the late Aline Rutledge Light. He has been a resident of Dublin for many years. He retired from Rockwell Automation. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Patricia Light, step-son, Gus McDaniel, and three brothers, Max Light, Donnie Light and John-Lynn Light. He is survived by his wife- Gayle Light of Dublin, daughter Leigh Light (Derrell) Thigpen of Dexter; step sons, Flint (Kelli) McDaniel of Dexter, Justin McDaniel of Dexter; grandchildren, Cory Reed Light, Marleigh Layne Thigpen, Shelby Thigpen, Maddie McDaniel, Jenna McDaniel; sisters, Patsy (Ray) King of Guntersville, AL, and Cathy (Tommy) Bagwell of Huntsville, AL. Van Savage, Bennie Bridges, Cecil Chalker, Ulysses Davis, Paul Atkins, Mark McNease will serve as pallbearers. Honorary escorts will include Jerry Pitts, Jimmy Smith, Wayne Mullis and Warren Lovett Pop. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
