Greg Silas, age 56, of East Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Mike Mertz and Rev. Donnie Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour on Saturday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Randall Warnock, Dusty Williams, Wayne Hilburn, Brett Cauley, David Williams, and Jimmy Wynn. Mr. Silas was born in Laurens County. He was formerly employed with Forstmann and loved sports and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Silas; grandparents, Frances Fuller Sharpe, Fred Sharpe, and Adrian and Clara Knight Silas. Survivors include his mother, Anna Sharpe Silas, of East Dublin; brother, Buck Silas (Heather), of Dublin; sisters, Vicki Silas Williams (David) and Jane Silas Wynn (Jimmy), both of East Dublin; nephews, Dusty Williams (Jenna), of Rincon, Jeremy Silas, of Dublin, Sam Wynn, of East Dublin, Anthony Wynn and Josh Wynn, of Dublin and Cam Williams, of Rincon; nieces, Ashley Silas, of Dublin and Avery Williams, of Rincon; aunt, Nancy Sharpe Moore, of Gordon and uncles, Fred Sharpe (Bonnie), of Albany, and Tommy Sharpe (Kathy), of Dexter.
