Services for Hazel White Brooks, age 83, of Dublin, will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 29, 2015, at White Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. Ragan Green will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Brooks died Thursday, March 26, 2015. Hazel was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Hazel was very passionate about church and helping people any way she could. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Eugene Brooks; parents, Harvey White, and Mary Etta Coleman White; brothers, J. T. White, Clifford White, Gene Thomas White, Sr.; sister, Mary Ann W. Fountain; daughter, Majorie Ann Brooks; grandson, Anthony Sawyer. Survivors include her children, Virranus (Harold) Sawyer, Judy (Ronnie) Sawyer, both of Dublin, Ronald Brooks, of Macon; grandchildren, Michelle (William) Simpson, Harold Sawyer, Jr., Greg Brooks, Tessa (James) Carroll, Robert Sawyer, all of Dublin, Kathy Jo Brooks, of Lancaster, PA; great grandchildren, Will Simpson, Kelsi Simpson, Hannah Simpson, Ashley Hulett, Daniel Carroll, all of Dublin; sister, Etta Mae (James) Dixon, of Dublin; brother, Carris (Aline) White, of Glenwood; several nieces and nephews. Leon Brooks, James Lamb, Chad Bright, Anthony White, Gene White, Jr. and Stevie White will serve as pallbearers.
