Services for Hazel Tanner Martin, age 74, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM Friday, April 12, 2013 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Nazarene Church Cemetery. Rev. Curtis Vincent and Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. Mrs. Martin died Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late John Oscar Tanner and the late Annie Stewart Tanner. She was a member of Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Martin was a retired food service worker for the Laurens County Board of Education. She worked for eleven years at West Laurens Middle School, where the children called her Grandma. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Tanner, Gene Tanner, and Harold Tanner; son, Buddy Ricks; daughter-in-law, Kathy Ricks; and two great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Gail (Bobby) Pritchett, of Jackson, Allen Ricks, of East Dublin, Terry (Sandra) Ricks, of East Dublin; brother, Talmadge (Joyce) Tanner, of Dublin; sisters, Robbie (Charles) Mason, of Swainsboro, Joyce Graham, of East Dublin; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Timmy Ricks, Sammy Ricks, T. J. Ricks, Dennis Johnson, Ricky Ricks, Brian Hartley, and Jamie Ricks will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
