Obituary

Mrs. Hazel (Young) Martin went home to be with her Savior on 30 December at Emory University Hospital. She was a beloved child of God, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Welcoming her to Heaven were her husband, Hubert Martin; her grandson Christopher Ryan Johnson; her parents William Herbert Young Sr. and Nora Young; her sister, Ann Young; her brothers, J. C. Young and Rev. William Herbert (Buddy) Young, Jr. Left to cherish her memories here on earth are her children: William Gary Martin, Sr. (Barbara), Marietta, GA; Rev. Jerry Martin (Arlene) and Kenny (Jenny) Martin of Dublin, Phyllis (John) Johnson, Warner Robins and Marcia (Vic) Malave, San Antonio, TX.. Her grandchildren: Anita (Mal) Duncan, Hochston; Bill Martin (Kristi), Dacula; Michael (Sheila) Martin, Michelle (Henry) Snellgrove, Kenny (Kelly) Hightower, Scott (Jacky) Hightower, Dublin; Marty (Verna) Johnson, Bethlehem; Crystal (Mike) Rowland, Grayson; Jamie (Kara) Martin, Vidalia; Dr. Brian (Dr. Michelle) Malave, Sandy Malave, Puerto Rico; Sgt Judson Martin, U. S. Army, Presidio, California. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. Her sisters: Willa Mae (Lamar) Beckham, Wrightsville and Totsie (Bobby) Coleman, Rentz, GA. Mr. and Mrs. Martin were long-time business owners of Martin Transfer and Storage in East Dublin. Visitation will be Sunday, January 1, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dublin, Ga from 6:00 to 8:00. Graveside services conducted by Rev. Jim Fennell will be held Monday, January 2nd, at 2:00, Dublin Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary escort will be Dublin Civitan Club members and their spouses. The family may be contacted at 370 Horseshoe Drive, Dublin GA.
