Heather O'Joy (Jones) Silas
Mrs. Heather Silas, 62, of Dublin passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Fairview Park Hospital.
She was a member of Dudley United Methodist Church. Heather graduated from Dublin High School in 1978. She worked at Laurens Park Mill and served 15+ years in the U.S. Army Reserve. She served during the First Gulf War and was deployed during Operation Desert Storm. Heather never met a stranger and was very outgoing. She and her son loved to work in their yard. Heather loved and adored their two-year-old grandchild, Kaitlyn. Heather was often affectionately called the nickname Doodle, by family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, Dr. Elton Dumar Jones. Survivors include her husband, (Buck) Andrew Craig Silas; son, Jeremy Cole Silas; daughter, Ashley Anna Blair (Markus); granddaughter, Kaitlyn Blair; sister, Lili (Sue) Bozeman; brother, Edward (Zeke) Virgil Ellington III (Rebecca); parents, Edward Virgil Ellington Jr. and Lillie Chambers Ellington; along with several nieces and nephews, many other relatives, church family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Silas, Markus Blair, Blake Bozeman, Skip Bozeman, Jay Ellington, and Todd Ellington.
Services will be held at the Chapel at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Reverend Sam Collins will deliver the eulogy. Interment at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
