Helen Roach Register, 97, went home to meet the Lord on August 23, 2014. She was born on October 28, 1916, in Rentz, GA, and lived her childhood days growing up locally, as did her future husband. After marrying, they moved to Macon to work and raise their family. Helen was a member of Martha Bowman Methodist Church in Macon and then in later years, a member of the prayer line. She is preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Register and her son, Mike Register. Helen is survived by her daughter, Brenda King of Minthill, GA and husband Barry, and her son, Ted Register of Ellijay, and his wife, Lisa. She has 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great children as well and many nieces and nephews. She'll always be remembered best as a living example of the grace of God. Services will be held in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 with burial to follow in Rentz Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until funeral hour. In her memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association online or directly to a local animal shelter.
