Obituary

Biography Helen Jackson Walker Waldrep, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, passed away on June 29, 2011. She was born in a Monroe County community, formerly known as Berner. Helen was the daughter of Owen G. Jackson and Vera Williams Jackson, and was the last survivor of 7 siblings. She is preceded in death by husbands Henry Anderson Walker and Walter Waldrep, and her great-grandson, Nash Jackson Walker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served 10 years in Dublin Service League, many as Treasurer. Helen is survived by two sons, Bob Walker (Jackie) of Dublin, Allen Waldrep (Bonnie) of Chester, grandchildren, Allison Holley of Decatur, Sandra Stanley of Alpharetta, Jack Walker of Dublin, David Waldrep of Hayesville, NC and Dana Bates of Clarksville. She has 15 great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 6, at 11:00 AM at Northview Cemetery. Dr. Jack Key, Rev. Andy Stanley and Rev. Dahl McDermitt will conduct the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her memory to the American SIDS Institute, 528 Raven Way, Naples, FL 34110, www.sids.org, or to First United Methodist Church, 305 West Gaines Street, Dublin, GA 31021.
