Services for Helen Jackson Walker, age 84, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate. Mrs. Walker was a lifelong resident of Laurens County and the daughter of the late Tom Hodges and Mary Cook Hodges. She was retired from J.P. Stevens and the Laurens County Board of Education. She was a lifetime member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husbands, Will A. Jackson and Ernest E. Walker; son, Larry Jackson and four brothers, Howard Hodges, Chappell Hodges, Ray Hodges and Marvin Hodges. Mrs. Walker passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. She is survived by her son Ralph H. Jackson (Syble) of Dublin; grandson, Mark (Sherry) Jackson of Dublin; three granddaughters, Lori (Paul) Williams of Dublin, Sherri (Josh) Graham of Cochran and Jill Hutcheson of Dublin; two sisters, Marjorie (Doyle) Lindsey and Faye (Gene) Myers both of Dublin, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bob Davidson, Lee Dixon, Brian Rogers, Billy Kight, Tommy Daniel and Buddy Adams. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00AM until funeral hour.
