Herbert Mack Alligood, Sr., 76, of Blythe, GA entered into rest Friday, September 5, 2014. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2014, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Alligood Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Cole will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until the funeral time. Herbert, born in Apopka, FL, was one of eleven children of Willie Alligood and Louise Yates Alligood. He retired from Club Car and was a former animal trainer at The Monkey Jungle in Homestead, FL. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. Herbert enjoyed spending time with the family, working in his shop, and flea marketing. He is survived by daughter, Gloria (Wayne) Watkins, of Gainesville, FL; son Mack (Louise) Alligood, of Avera,GA; grandchildren, Brian (Jessica) Hendrix, Cassie Cooper, Jonathan Alligood, Jennifer Alligood,and Caitlyn Alligood; one great grandson, Andrew Hendrix; one brother, William Alligood, of Rentz; two sisters, Lorene Douglas, of Eastman, and Doris Alligood, of Gray. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Rosa Alligood , and his daughter,Gail Alligood Conn. Jeff Alligood, Al Alligood, Scott Conn, Wayne Watkins, and Billy Alligood will serve as pallbearers.
