Services for Hershel Doyle White, age 59 of Adrian, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Dublin Church of God. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Steve Hardeman will officiate. Mr. White died Monday, December 2, 2013. Mr. White was the owner and operator of Smith's Auto Top & Body Shop. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed outdoor sports, including fishing, men's softball, and dirt track racing. He loved his work and people. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, James Travis White and Myrtle Turner Arrington; son, Hershel Doyle White, Jr.; and brothers, Ned White, Clyde White, and Raymond White. Survivors include his wife, Velma Jean White, of Adrian; sons, William Ashley White, of Adrian, Scotty (Brandy ) White, of Adrian, Tommy (Ansley ) Garrett, of Dublin; grandchildren, Carlie Garrett and Thomas Garrett, both of Dublin, Joshua White, and Cole White, both of Murfesboro, TN, Tyler White, of Dublin; step-grandchildren, Hannah Bell, and Caleb Bahle, both of Dublin; sisters and brother, Imogene (Wayman) Graham, of Dublin, Christine Williams, of Lumber City, Betty (Frank) Barbee, of Dublin, Fred (Peggy) White, of Dry Branch, Alice Livingston, of Cedar Grove, and Elaine (Sam) Dixon, of Hazelhurst. Chad Graham, Ken Davis, Daniel Knight, Jeff Myers, Jaime Foskey, Cecil Hollis, Sam Hoarsley, and Michael Daniel will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
