Graveside services for Howard Evans, age 85 of Rentz, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Greg Lowery will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday following the service in the Church Social Hall. Mr. Evans died Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Mr. Evans was the son of the late David Franklin Evans and the late Sallie Underwood Evans. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was also a member of IBEW for forty-five years. Mr. Evans enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Algerine Grinstead Evans, six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his sons, Rickie (B.J.) Evans, of Rentz, Jeffery Franklin Evans, of Douglasville; grandchildren, Jill Ricks, of Dublin, Joseph B. Grubbs, of Dublin, and Donald P. Grubbs, of Eatonton. Danny Evans, Richard Evans, Clifton Smith, Ken Grinstead, Don Raines, and Larry Evans will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
