Services for Hugh I. York, Jr., age 86 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Marie Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate. He passed away on Friday, August 09, 2013. Mr. York was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Forstmann & Company. He was a member of Marie Baptist Church. Mr. York was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mamie Wilkes York; wife, Juanita Thompson York and two brothers, Bud and John York. Survivors include a son, Hugh I. "Sonny" (Kitty)York, III of Rockmart, GA; daughters, Darlene Y. (Sonny) Drum of Dublin and Tina (Don) Edwards of Decatur; sisters, Bernice Thompson of Easley, SC and Mary Ruth (Richard) Lyles of Hoffman, NC; brother, James A. (Dorothy) York of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Heather Brewer of Macon, Laurie (Danny) McCullars of Dublin, Rebecca Shelton of Rockmart, Anna (Biff) Parson of Jefferson, GA, Mary (Hayden) Roberson of Cedartown, GA; great-grandchildren, Charlie-Bass Wages, Sunnie-York Wages, Tucker York Parson and Max Sanders Parson; special friend, Helen Osburn of Dublin and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00PM until funeral hour at Marie Baptist Church.
