Ira "Buddy/Moose" Ernest Wood, Jr., age 59 of Dexter, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Rentz Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann will officiate. Mr. Wood was of the Baptist faith and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Ashmore Wood; father, Ira Ernest Wood, Sr.; mother, Mary Eunice Spillers and brother, Roy Osbourn. He is survived by his son, Anthony "Rat" Wood (Denise) of Dexter and daughter, Nikki Warnock (Jamie) of Dexter; grandchildren, Drake Wood, Austin Wood, Kyle Warnock and Levi Warnock; sisters, Ann Morton (Mike) of Rentz and Shirleen Davidson (Jerry) of Dexter and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Nathan Morton, Thad Morton, David Morton, Trent Wood, Spence Wood, James Wood, Kris Carr and Jason Garner. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
