Isabell Durden, 92, wife of the late Pete Durden, entered her Heavenly home Thursday, July 6th. She grew up in Laurens County with 10 siblings and worked at the Savannah shipyards as a young woman to help support her family. She raised her children in Emanuel County before eventually moving back to Laurens County.

Known for her boundless energy and contagious laughter, Isabell spent her lifetime blessing others as she taught Sunday School for nearly 50 years, delivered food to those in need, and visited nursing home residents with her beloved husband to share their love of music. She spent much of her time reading her Bible, listening to gospel music and praying for others.

Survivors include: children Kenneth, Johnny, Linda, Robert; grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Boogie, Jeff, BJ; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside service: Friday, 10 am, Gay Cemetery, Rentz, GA.
