Funeral services for Mr. J. E. "Ed" Bracewell, age 94 of Dublin will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the church Monday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Rev. Brian Gay and Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Mr. Bracewell was born in Laurens County to the late Leonard Austin Bracewell and the late Mary Lizzie Wood Bracewell on February 24, 1918. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army serving as a medic in the Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley Italian campaigns. Mr. Bracewell was a member of First Baptist Church and was a retired self employed businessman, the owner of The Budget Store and Security Loans. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Carolyn Lee Bracewell and a daughter, Brenda Carol Bracewell. Mr. Bracewell died Saturday, April 21, 2012. Survivors include his daughter, Susan Bracewell Gay of Dublin, grandchildren, William Todd Gay (Melissa) of Dublin, Brian Edward Gay (Jennifer) of Valdosta, Brenda Gay Henderson (Lee) of Kathleen, great grandchildren, Garner Gay, Greyden Gay, Mackenzie Gay, Griffin Gay, Blake Henderson, Haley Kate Henderson and several nieces and nephews. Lawrence Hall, Billy Kight, Ronnie Gay, Rob Miller, Lane Swida and Mark Lee will serve as pallbearers.
