James Roy Meeks, Jr., age 76, of Rentz, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020.

Mr. Meeks was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country in Vietnam. He was a lifelong electrician and retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. James was a former Grand Master of the Dublin Masonic Lodge and worked hard his whole life. He loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him, "Pop Pop". He was an avid pool shark and was well known for it. Mr. Meeks was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy Meeks, Sr., and Myrtle Grant Meeks.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Meeks, of Rentz; sons, Chad Meeks, of Columbus, and Brad Meeks (Robyn), of Dublin; grandchildren, Cayman Meeks, Canyon Meeks, Janson Meeks, Janey Meeks, and Jarrett Meeks; sisters, Joan Mason, and Mary Alice Spivey; brother, Glenn Meeks, several nieces and nephews, and special Navy friend, Jerry Bass.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, in Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Randy Mimbs will officiate.
