Obituary

James Milton Minter, age 83, of East Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center Hospice Unit.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Janice Laster, Rev. Ron Gilbert, and Rev. David Canen will officiate. Billy Jaudon, Andy Jaudon, Dwain Nix, Jeremy Carter, Jason Nix, and William Cook, will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Minter was born in Laurens County to the late Alva and Susie Minter. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base, and enjoyed farming. He was a member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene and former member of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Minter was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Smith Minter; sisters, Sara Youngblood, and Patricia Duncan, and son-in-law, Phil Melton.

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Melton, Millie Pierce (Robert), and Mahala Nix (Dwain), all of Dublin; son, Randall Minter (Polly), of East Dublin; grandchildren, Billy Jaudon, Andy Jaudon, Jeremy Carter, Jamie Carter, Jason Nix, Mandy Criswell, Brannon Minter, Chris Minter, and Kimberly Pierce; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Morgan, of Perry; sisters-in-law, Clara Currie, Clarie Wilkes and Joyce Brack, and several nieces and nephews.
