Services for James C. "Jim" Shoe, MSgt (Retired) age 78, of Dudley will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 30, 2014, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. James G. "Jim" Hampton, David Shoe, and Jamison Hampton will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Mr. Shoe died Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Mr. Shoe, a graduate of Middle Georgia College, served twenty-three years in the U S Air Force, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, involved with Military Intelligence. He worked at the Veterans Administration for twenty years. Mr. Shoe was a member of First Baptist Church, VFW, American Legion, and the Romeo Club, as well as a volunteer for several ministries. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Shoe was preceded in death by his parents, Walter N. and Beulah B. Shoe. Survivors include his loving wife, Ann Pritchard Shoe, of Dudley; children, David (Lesa) Shoe, of Valdosta, Timothy Shoe, of Dublin, Kimberly (James) Hampton, of Cadwell, Christopher (Debbie) Lamb, of East Dublin, Kellie (Clark) Garnto, of Wrightsville, Scott Lamb, of Dudley; grandchildren, Selena Lamb, Jamison (Jenilee) Hampton, Adam Shoe, Kayla Hartley, Haley (Jamie) Allen, Laura Shoe, Spencer (Candace) Hartley, Adrianne (Cody) Hilbun, Caleb Hampton, Ashley Garnto, Victor Lamb, Austin Lamb, Matthew Lamb, William Shoe; twelve great grandchildren; special nephew, Marvin Kersey; and several cousins. Jamison Hampton, Adam Shoe, Caleb Hampton, Victor Lamb, Clark Garnto, and Marvin Kersey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Townsend Smith Sunday School Class, the American Legion, the Romeo Club, Johnnie Webb, and Watson Cobb. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021. .
