Jannesse K. Thomas, age 83, of Dublin, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017.

Services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Rev. Darren Talley and Rev. Jay Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until funeral hour on Sunday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Larry Price, Phillip Thomas, Marvin Tarpley, Robert Tarpley, Tommy Parker, Barney Parker, Bob Livingston, and Calvin Sturgis.

Mrs. Thomas was born on October 9, 1933 in Laurens County to the late Jim and Dora Keel. She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. She retired from Farmers & Merchants Bank, where she worked as a loan officer and bank manager.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Reese Thomas, Sr.; brothers, Luther Keel, Walter Keel, Freeman Keel, and Issac Keel, and sisters, Nora Payne and Mary Keel.

Survivors include her sons, William R. Thomas, Jr., and his wife, Lynn, of Dudley, GA, and Dr. C. Gregory Thomas, and his wife, Dr. Audrey L. House, of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Brian (Jody) Van Ness, of Rincon, GA, Callie (Matthew) White, of Dublin, GA, Emily (Jeremy) Draa, of Atlanta, GA, Laura Thomas, of Wake Forest, NC, Will Thomas, of Raleigh, NC, and Alex Thomas, of Charleston, WV; great grandchildren, Gavin, Olivia, and Luke Van Ness, of Rincon, GA and Asher White, of Dublin, GA.
