Jaunette McDonald Grizzard died November 8, 2016 after many years of struggling to defeat cancer. Jaunette was born in Kibbee, Ga in Montgomery County, on March 30.1938 to Carrie Lou Coleman McDonald, and Luther Lenton McDonald. She spent her early years with her two brothers, and parents in the farming community of Montgomery County. Her High School years were spent across the line in Truetlen County where she graduated from Soperton High School in 1955.
After her first job in Dublin Ga, she later married and moved to Alamo Ga. After the passing of her husband, she returned to Dublin in 1968 and married Everette "Bud" Grizzard in 1969. For the next 30 years, together they owned and operated Grizzard Piano Co., in East Dublin Ga. They moved to the western side of Laurens county in 1997, and retired from the piano business in 2001.
Jaunette was pre deceased by her parents Luther and Carrie Lou McDonald, her first husband Elbert Hathcock and her younger brother Wendell McDonald. She leaves behind her husband Everette "Bud" Grizzard, four sons Marshall Grizzard (Krista) of Dublin, Georgia; Stacey Hathcock (Becky) of Killen, Alabama; Tracey Hathcock (Karey) of Bunswick Georgia and Alan "Skeeter" Grizzard (Tina) of Register Georgia; 9 grandchildren Lois Grizzard, John Lee Hathcock, Jonathan Morgan Hathcock, Matthew Hathcock, Casey Grizzard, Brandie Grizzard, Brittany Carter, Ethan Bailey and Nathan Bailey, several great grandchildren and a brother Colen McDonald.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 11, 2016, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Rev. Tommy Veal and Rev. Judd Drake will officiate. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
John Lee Hathcock, Jonathan Morgan Hathcock, Matthew Hathcock, Ethan Bailey, Nathan Bailey and Gene Carter will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Gethsemane United Methodist Church at 501 Soperton Ave. East Dublin Ga. 31027.
