Graveside services for J.B. Newsome, age 73, of Dublin, will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Monty Lasseter will officiate. Mr. Newsome was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the holiness faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Jesse Thomas and Laura Broxton Newsome. He passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Fairview Park Hospital. He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Wilkinson and Darlene Giles, both of East Dublin; two sons, Billy Allen of Dublin and Danny Allen of East Dublin; two brothers, Agnue Newsome of Savannah and Cleve Newsome of Dublin; two sisters, Virginia Truman of Dublin and Yvonne Haywood of Opelika, AL; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Wayne Sanders, Steve Russell, Randy Russell, Al Russell, Josh Wilkinson, Derrick Wilkinson, Brandon Wilkinson and Shawn Wilkinson. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
