Obituary

Jean Penn Perry, age 86, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. Mrs. Perry was born on July 18, 1930 in Bibb County to the late William and Nadyne Thompson Penn. She was mostly raised in Thomaston, GA but also lived in Macon where she worked at Sam Neil Shoe Store. She also lived in Savannah from 1967 until 1991, where she retired as a manager with GMS Loans. In 1992, she moved to Dublin, GA and served as a substitute teacher for the Dublin City Schools. She was a member of the Lyons Club and Poplar Springs North Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Reese Perry. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Nuscher (Ed) and Linda Downs, both of Savannah, and Theresa Taylor (Jack), of Dublin; son, Hilton Perry (Jacki), of Milton, FL; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and brothers, Billy Penn and Gerald Penn, both of Yatesville, GA. Services will be held at 11:00AM on March 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Mr. Norman Jarrard will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00AM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Robert Downs, Edwin Nuscher, Chris Taylor, Cain Carter, Chris Crawford, James Ryals will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AFAC – Lighthouse, P.O. Box 344, Dublin, GA 31040.
