Services for Jean Marilyn Shepherd, age 77, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Dublin First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Adrian. Pastor Myron Wise and Pastor Don Hicks will officiate. Mrs. Shepherd was the daughter of the late Narvus A. Hightower and the late Willie Hall Hightower. She was a member of Dublin First Church of the Nazarene and a volunteer at the Senior Center in East Dublin. Mrs. Shepherd died Sunday, April 21, 2013. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert B. Shepherd, infant son, Michael B. Shepherd, brothers and sisters, Cecil Hightower, J. D. Hightower, Lyman Hightower, Carolyn Logue, Bud Hightower, Ralph Hightower, Evelyn Mortefolio, Faye Johnson, and Bobby Hightower. Survivors include her children, Cynthia Thigpen (Ricky), of Dublin, Barry Shepherd (Kristie), of East Dublin, Crystal Garnto, of East Dublin; grandchildren, Trey Waites (Samantha), of Dublin, Caci Shepherd, of Dublin, LaRoyce Garnto, of East Dublin, Troy Waites, of Dublin, Triston Rodriguez, of East Dublin, Shaleena Garnto, of East Dublin, Paige Martin, of East Dublin; and several nieces and nephews. Trey Waites, Troy Waites, Triston Rodriguez, Crystal Garnto, LaRoyce Garnto, and Barry Shepherd will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Family headquarters will be at 830 Brantley Road, Lot H, East Dublin.
