Services for Jernigan Stanley, age 87, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2015, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Calvin Halcomb will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday prior to the funeral service. Mr. Stanley died Thursday, August 27, 2015. Mr. Stanley retired from Forstmann, formerly J. P. Stevens Company, after a forty-one year career. He was a member of and served as a deacon of Dexter Baptist Church. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Percy and Mamie Dora Jernigan Stanley, his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Schell Stanley, of Dublin; children, Velinda Stanley, of Dublin, Ginny (Paul) Brown, of Dexter, Lee Jernigan Stanley, of Dublin; grandchildren, Eric (Katie) Brown, of Cumming, Kaitlin Stanley, Reagan Stanley, Avery Brewer, all of Dudley; great grandson, Jack Brown, of Cumming,; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Deacons of Dexter Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. To honor his life, the family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
