Services for Jethro "Jeff" Evans, age 79 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday at New Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs and Rev. Ken Rodgers will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Evans was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. He was a member of Baker Baptist Church and had been attending New Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from Forstmann after over 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Steppie Evans and Ollie Mae Schell Evans, his siblings, James Evans, Donnie Evans, Juanice Phillips, Bernice Woodard and Betty Harden. Mr. Evans died Friday, July 25, 2014. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Evans of Dublin, son, Jerry (Gail) Evans of East Dublin, daughter, Lisa (Joel) Warren of Dublin, grandchildren, Jeremy (Lauren) Evans, Justin Evans, Wade (Callie) Warren, great grandchild, Blakelee Evans, brother, Ray (Helen) Evans, of East Dublin sisters, Kay Rowe of Dublin and Barbara Ann (Roy) Taylor East Dublin. Jeremy Evans, Justin Evans, Wade Warren, Dennis Tipton, Brian Hollis, and Bruce Bellflower will serve as pallbearers.
