Services for James "Jim" Carpenter, age 60 of Rentz will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Union Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dwaine Dunn and Rev. Jeff Handley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Carpenter worked at Bilco Manufacturing in Macon and was a master carpenter. He attended Union Springs Baptist Church. Jim, a perfectionist by nature, was a wonderful loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and son-in-law. Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his grandpa, James Carpenter, Sr. and grandma, Francis Carpenter. He passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Virginia Carpenter of Rentz; two sons, James (Inez) Carpenter, IV, and Jon (Beth) Carpenter, both of St. Cloud, FL; grandchildren, James E. Carpenter V, Fallon Carpenter, Jonathan E. Carpenter, Jr., Nicholas Carpenter and Farrah Carpenter, all of St. Cloud, FL; father, James Carpenter, Jr. of Rentz; mother, Norma Cole Carpenter of Greeneville, TN; sister, Kitty Weir of Scottsdale, AZ; father-in-law, Richard (Shirley) Barron of Rentz; brothers-in-law, Richard (Donna) Barron, Jr. and Larry (Tammy) Barron, both of Miami, FL; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Danny) Montilla and Matthew Barron both of Miami, FL, Ryan Weir of Scottsdale, AZ and D.J. Weir of Tuscan, AZ. Pallbearers will be Chris Cole, Frank Aguliar, Larry Barron, Rick Barron, Jeff Handley and Jarod White.
