Services for Jimmy Gus Alligood, age 68 of East Dublin will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 5, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Harold Thornton will officiate. Mr. Alligood was born in Laurens County to the late Augustus Alligood and the late Estelle Evans Alligood. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Laurens County Public Works. He was preceded in death by his stepson – Wayne Hill. Mr. Alligood died Monday, April 2, 2012. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Alligood of East Dublin, stepchildren, Mike (Ellen) Hill of East Dublin, Angie Edge of East Dublin, Randy(Wendy) Hill of Rockmart, Greg Bolger of East Dublin, brothers and sisters, Dennard Alligood, Flourney Newman, Quincy Newman, Ezelle Kennedy, Sally Ratley, Lillian Brewer, several nieces and nephews and several step grandchildren. Randy Hill, Mike Hill, Greg Bolger, Kylie Hill, Johnnie Hall and William Hart will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at 205 Crestview Drive, East Dublin, and will receive friends at Townsend Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
