Services for Joan Roberson Duke, age 58 of Dexter, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Martin will officiate. Mrs. Duke was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late, Charles and Mattie Nibbett Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nellene Bracewell. Mrs. Duke died Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She is survived by her fiancé, Rick Parlato of Dexter; two daughters, Dari Roberson (Archie) Kharischirashvili of Gray and Nena (Chris) Brooks of Dublin; two brothers, Raymond Wood and Wayne Wood, both of Dexter; grandson, Dane Kharischirashvili and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jamie Bracewell, Chuck Bracewell, Greg Wood, Jarrett Wood, Dexter Wilkins and Scott Roberson. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Monday, April 23, 2012 from 10:00 AM until funeral hour.
