Services for Joan G. Lord age 79 of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 17, 2014, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the funeral time. Mrs. Lord was a native of Dublin. She was the daughter of the late E. D. Graham and Myrtis Martin Graham. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Winsome Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lord was retired after serving many years as the Director of Preschool Education at Windsor Forest Baptist Church in Savannah and later at St. Simons United Methodist Church in St. Simons Island, GA. Mrs. Lord loved working with and serving children and volunteered to help tutor and read to elementary children in the Dublin School System. She was a loving wife, mom and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, G. T. Lord of Dublin, children, Gerry and Terry Lord of LaGrange, Melanie L. and Jerry R. Johnson of Hattiesburg, MS, grandchildren, Duncan Lord, Holly Lord, Rachel Johnson, Alex Johnson, Sarah Johnson, sister, Ginger Dominy of Dublin, brother, Martin Graham of Clarksville, and several nieces and nephews.
