A celebration of life service for Dr. Joel Radney, age 77 of Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Family Life Center. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Rusty Stewart and Rev. James Hughes will officiate. Dr. Radney died Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Dr. Radney was the son of the late James Elmer Radney and the late Martha Flaura Ward Radney. Dr. Radney was the youngest chiropractor ever licensed in Georgia and in 1958, he founded Radney Chiropractic Clinic. He was an active member of the Georgia Chiropractor's Association, serving in many offices and on the Board of Directors. Dr. Radney was instrumental in getting the Insurance Equality Law passed. He served on the Dublin City Council many years and was Mayor Pro tem. Dr. Radney was a member and Deacon of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church and the Emanuels Sunday School Class. He was a member of Laurens Lodge # 75 F &AM and served as past Master and was a member of the Al Sihah Shrine. He was also a member of the Travelers Quartet, the Good Sams Chapter 17 camping club, and the Romeo Club of McDonalds. Survivors include his wife, Sara Dominy Radney, of Dublin; children, Dr. Derek Radney, of Dublin, and Shani (James) DeCubellis, of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Julia Radney and Katy Radney, both of Dublin, Alex DeCubellis and Adriana DeCubellis, both of Tuscaloosa; brother Bobby (Mary) Radney, of Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Hilda Radney Wynn; and several nieces and nephews, Brother in law Billy (Nannette) Dominy of Dublin. Bill Dominy, Josh Dominy, Jacob Dominy, Jacob Simpson, Chris Radney, Michael Radney and Ashley Evans will serve as pallbearers. Larry Allen, Dr. William Ball, Larry Bullock, Benny Davis, Clyde Evans, Billy Fordham, Lynn Fordham, Dr. Hugh Johnson, Bob Killingsworth, M. L. Knight, Wallace Miller, Larry Mullis, Duren Payne, Billy Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, and Mike Wolfe will serve as honorary pallbearers. . The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church.
